On December 8, the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation hosted an extended meeting of the Committee for Public Support of the Southeast of Ukraine. The event was devoted to discussing the issues of providing humanitarian assistance to the people of the Donbass, as well as further development of interregional cooperation with public organizations of the DPR and the LPR.

The first, in a while, meeting of the heads of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and Ukraine is a positive step, but the effectiveness of negotiations to resolve the situation in Ukraine is not yet clear. It was stated by the plenipotentiary representative of the DPR in the Contact group on Donbass Denis Pushilin to RIA Novosti.

Pensions, salaries and social benefits, as well as humanitarian assistance, continue to be provided in the DPR by the Russian Federation, therefore the stoppage of food supplies by the UN is not critical. It was stated by the Chairman of the DPR People’s Council Denis Pushilin in the interview to the information and analytical publication “Ukraine”.

On December 5, in Minsk, the regular meeting of the Contact Group on the peaceful settlement of the conflict in the Donbass was held. The agenda of the meeting included issues of compliance with the ceasefire regime, the implementation of agreements on the withdrawal of prohibited weapons and the disengagement of forces and facilities. A discussion of the conditions for preparing the exchange of prisoners also took place.

On November 29, a regular meeting of the contact Group on the peaceful settlement of the conflict in Donbass was held in Minsk. The agenda included the observance of ceasefire, the implementation of agreements on the withdrawal of proscribed weapons and the separation of forces and means, as well as discussions on the preparation of the exchange and release of prisoners.

Igor Plotnitsky's decision to relinquish the authority of the Head of the Lugansk People's Republic will not have any negative consequences for the Minsk process, said the Chairman of the DPR People's Council, Permanent Representative of the DPR to the Contact Group in Minsk Denis Pushilin.

The principle of exchange of "all for all" is supported at all levels and by the "Normandy format", as well as by the President of Ukraine, Denis Pushilin, the Permanent Plenipotentiary in the negotiations of the Contact Group in Minsk, the Chairman of the People's Council of the DPR, stated in the Vesti programme's studio on air of the Russian channel "Russia 24".

The agenda included issues of compliance with the ceasefire, as well as the implementation of agreements on the withdrawal of prohibited weapons and the disengagement of forces and facilities.

The position of the Russian Federation, as the position of the Republics, on the introduction of the United Nations forces in Donbass remains unchanged and this position is reflected in the resolution of Russia.
