It is reasonable for the security of the OSCE SMM staff to strengthen them with the United Nations’ peacekeepers after separation of forces and means, under a framework decision, in order to implement a full-fledged ceasefire.

On September 1, a commemorative event was held at the Donbass Law Academy to coincide the beginning of the new 2017/18 school year and the upcoming Lawyers’ Day. As part of today's videoconference, the Donetsk People's Republic has confirmed its commitment to the implementation of the "school armistice", and also welcomed the participants' proposals on measures to prevent the aggravation of situation on the contact line, the need to investigate and punish the perpetrators of violations of the "silence regime".

The Donetsk People’s Republic has confirmed its participation in an extraordinary videoconference, which will take place on August 31. The subject of the videoconference will be a confirmation of the parties' actions to secure a permanent ceasefire, as stated by the Contact Group on August 23.

"School truce" is designed to reduce the intensity of shellings and to remove the threat of resumption of full-fledged combat operations, a complete ceasefire, though, is possible only after the disengagement of forces and facilities along the entire front line.

On August 26, a holiday concert entitled “With Makeyevka in heart”, which was timed to the 327th anniversary of the founding of the city, was held in Makeyevka. The event was attended by the Chairman of the DPR People’s Council Denis Pushilin, the People’s Council’s deputies, the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation’s deputy Andrey Kozenko and the Acting Head of the Makeyevka city administration Valery Lyakhovets.
