Joint appeal of Chairmans of DPR and LPR People’s Councils to Russian, US and Germany leaders

To the Russian President Vladimir Putin, the President of the United States of America Donald Trump, German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Ukrainian authorities continue the genocide of the Donbass population.

As a result of regular attacks on the contact line, a number of social infrastructure facilities, industrial and residential buildings is damaged. At the end of 2016 as a result of sabotage by the AFU, 80% of the LPR was left without electricity, central heating and water supply systems were under threat. Ukraine has repeatedly attempted to stop the water supply from the western filter station (industrial site “Carbon”) and Petrovsky water intake into the territory of the LPR, resulting in about 400 thousand people affected by the shortage of drinking water in the cities of Lugansk, Alchevsk, Stakhanov, Bryanka, Pervomaisk and a number of other localities. In the DPR a part of districts had to switch to the backup water supply sources. Yasinovataya and the surrounding localities are still without water. A part of Makeyevka is de-energized, there is still no water. Kalmius intake has been subjected to the shelling, Pervomaisk town is disconnected from the gas supply system. Malfunction of these facilities jeopardizes more than 500 thousand inhabitants of the Republics.

Ukrainian military deliberately choose for their targets industrial facilities, the failure of which may result in an ecological disaster in the region. Donetsk filter plant, where hazardous reagents are stored, is under constant fire. In the affected area there are more than 500 thousand people and dozens of localities, including in the neighbouring territory of Ukraine. A similar situation is with the same potentially dangerous objects – Dzerzhinsk phenol plant near the village of Novgorodskoe, the plant “Stirol” near the town of Gorlovka, industrial sludge tanks.

Ukraine has done nothing to restore the banking system, due to which there is no possibility of money transfers, the citizens are not provided with pensions and social benefits. It primarily affects pensioners as the most socially vulnerable category of citizens (about 30% of the population).

We ask you to stop Ukraine and make Poroshenko cease criminal activities against the people of Donbass. Make Poroshenko stop shooting at civilians and lift the economic blockade. This must be done before it’s too late! So far environmental and humanitarian disaster has not occurred in our land, prevent the big trouble! Stop Poroshenko! Save the Donbass people!
