Oleg Onopko: There is no and cannot be any trust in new Ukrainian president on part of citizens of LPR and DPR
Vladimir Zelensky is as good as Poroshenko in his hypocrisy. This was stated by the Deputy of the DPR’s People’s Council Oleg Onopko in an interview to the Donetsk News Agency.
The deputy underlined that Vladimir Zelensky did not fulfill his election pledges, as well as the previous Ukrainian president.
ʺZelensky declared during the election campaign that he wanted peace and, after assuming power, he rejected the basic principles of the Minsk agreements. Policy towards Donbass remains unchanged under his leadership in Ukraine. As a result, shelling continues and, as before, civilians are killed.
Now Mr. Zelensky maintains consistency in his lack of respect for the people of Donbass, our choice, values and interests. Therefore, it is quite expected that he refuses to have a dialogue with Donetsk and Lugansk and demands to expand media aggression against our region.
There is no and cannot be any trust in the new Ukrainian president on part of the citizens of the LPR and DPR under these circumstances,ʺ Oleg Onopko said.
He added that the new president of Ukraine was obviously dependent in his policy.
ʺHe focuses on the interests of the United States in foreign policy and he is dependent on oligarchic clans in domestic policy. And now, key posts in the state are being occupied by people indirectly connected with Igor Kolomoisky, who personally sponsored the battalions of Ukrainian nationalists in Donbass in 2014,ʺ the deputy noted.
